Storm van bakel (2001) is an Amsterdam based photographer. He mostly works with analogue, because this process slows him down and makes him look for the small details something he also enjoys in life. Using the camera as a tool to express himself.
His work is rooted in themes of healing, self-growth and vulnerability. With a focus on representing queerness. Showing through his work what stands out to him, what he feels needs to be shown to the world.
Storm’s process is intuitive and impulsive, often using an analog camera. This approach allows him to slow down, look for details that normally would have been lost, and embrace imperfections.
